Lim Yoon-ah, known professionally as Yoona, is a South Korean actress, singer, and dancer born on May 30, 1990, in Seoul, South Korea. She is a member of the group Girls' Generation, also known as SNSD. Yoona completed her secondary education at Daeyoung High School and earned a bachelor's degree in Theater from Dongguk University. Recognized for her work in the entertainment industry, she is credited with 104 known works. She is also identified by the stage name Yoon-a and is known for her acting career. Her professional background includes extensive training and early experience in the South Korean media landscape prior to her official debut in the music industry.

Yoona joined SM Entertainment in 2002 following her success in the SM Saturday Open Casting Audition. She underwent five years of training before her public debut. Prior to her official entry into the industry, she participated in numerous auditions, which led to appearances in various commercials and music videos. Her first appearance in a music video occurred in 2004 with the release of TVXQ's Magic Castle.
