Valery Nikolaev is an actor and dancer born on August 23, 1965, in Moscow, RSFSR, USSR. He graduated from MKhAT, where he studied under Oleg Tabakov, and later performed with the Chekhov MKhAT theater. During his studies, he met his future wife, Irina Apeksimova. As a choreographer, Nikolaev has worked on five productions at the Chekhov MKhAT theater and choreographed the musical My Fair Lady in Moscow in 2000. In 1997, he traveled to Hollywood to appear in Phillip Noyce's film The Saint. A serious dancer who excels at rock and tap, Nikolaev trained at a university in Florida, where he received a certificate in tap dancing.
