Biography
Valerie Edmond is a Scottish actress born in 1971. After graduating from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, she secured her first notable role in a production of The Sunshine Boys at the Royal Lyceum Theatre. The production was directed by Maureen Lipman, who subsequently cast Edmond as a secretary in the television series Agony Again. In her 1995 book titled You Can Read Me Like a Book, Lipman described Edmond as having the bones of a Slav, the legs of a supermodel, and the heart of a small fawn. Edmond later played her first leading role as Ashley in The Crow Road, which was a BBC Scotland adaptation of the novel by Iain Banks.
