Biography
Uma Karuna Thurman, born April 29, 1970, in Boston, Massachusetts, is an American actress known for her work across film and television since the 1980s. She gained early recognition with roles in Dangerous Liaisons (1988) and achieved international prominence for her performance as Mia Wallace in Pulp Fiction (1994), earning Academy Award, BAFTA, and Golden Globe nominations for Best Supporting Actress. Thurman is often associated with director Quentin Tarantino, with whom she collaborated on Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003) and Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004), playing the lead role of The Bride. Her filmography spans genres including drama, comedy, science fiction, and action. Thurman has also appeared in television productions and has been recognized as a muse of Tarantino. Her parents are Nena Thurman, a model and socialite, and Robert Thurman, a scholar.
