He frequently uses the stage names Little Steven or Miami Steve, and is also known by the names Stevie Van Zandt and E St. Born on November 12, 1950, in Winthrop, Massachusetts, he is best known as a member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, playing guitar and mandolin, and as an actor in the television drama The Sopranos, where he played the character Silvio Dante.
