Steve Railsback is an American theatre, film, and television actor born on November 16, 1945, in Dallas, Texas. He is a student of Lee Strasberg and the Actors Studio. Railsback made his film debut in The Visitors, directed by Elia Kazan. He has portrayed two notorious murderers, one of whom was Charles Manson in a television miniseries. Railsback spent 10 years working in theatre in New York City in the late 1960s and early 1970s. He has appeared in numerous films and television shows, with a total of 91 known credits. Railsback is known for his performances in the films The Stunt Man and Lifeforce, and his portrayal of Charles Manson in the television miniseries Helter Skelter.
