Steve Bond was born Shlomo Goldberg on April 22, 1953, in Haifa, Israel, to a Romanian-born mother and a Hungarian-born father. He began his career as a child actor, starring in the 1968 release Tarzan and the Jungle Boy. After completing his mandatory military service for the state of Israel, he moved to America in the early 1980s and became a daytime television actor on General Hospital. In 1984, he posed bare-chested for a pin-up wall poster. He married in 1982 and had a daughter. In 1989, he joined the cast of the daytime drama Santa Barbara as Mack Blake for a one-year stint. Later, he starred as a seductive but evil vampire in the films To Die For and Son of Darkness: To Die For II.
