Stellan Skarsgård, born June 13, 1951, in Gothenburg, Sweden, is a Swedish actor known for his work in both European and international cinema. He gained early recognition through the television series "Bombi Bitt and Me" and became internationally prominent with roles in "The Hunt for Red October" and "Good Will Hunting." Skarsgård has frequently collaborated with director Lars von Trier, appearing in films such as "Breaking the Waves," "Dancer in the Dark," and "Melancholia." His supporting roles include performances in the "Pirates of the Caribbean," "Mamma Mia!," and Marvel Cinematic Universe franchises. He is the father of eight children, including actors Alexander and Bill Skarsgård.
