Sonakshi Sinha, born on 2 June 1987 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, is an Indian actress who primarily works in Hindi cinema. Early in her career she worked as a costume designer before making her acting debut in the action‑drama Dabangg (2010), a performance that earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. She subsequently appeared as the romantic lead in several commercially successful action films, including Rowdy Rathore (2012), Son of Sardaar (2012), Dabangg 2 (2012) and Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty (2014).
