Shaparak Khorsandi is a British comedian and author of Iranian origin. Born in Tehran, Iran, she is the daughter of Iranian political satirist and poet Hadi Khorsandi. Her family left Iran when she was a child. Khorsandi is known for her stand-up comedy performances, which frequently reference her Iranian heritage. She has performed professionally under the stage name Shappi Khorsandi. Khorsandi has written a book titled "A Beginner's Guide To Acting English". She has been involved in various projects, including a 2023 film titled "Shapchat!". Khorsandi is also a member of Humanists UK, serving as president from 2016 to 2019 and vice-president in 2019.
