Shane West, born Shannon Bruce Snaith, is an American actor, punk rock musician, and songwriter. He was born on June 10, 1978, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. West made his acting debut in 1995, appearing as Dave Lattimore in the fourth season of the CBS drama Picket Fences, specifically in the sixth episode titled Heart of Saturday Night. He is best known for portraying Eli Sammler on the ABC family drama Once and Again, Landon Carter in A Walk to Remember, Michael Bishop on The CW spy drama Nikita, and Dr. Ray Barnett on the NBC medical drama ER.
