Black is known for writing several films, including Lethal Weapon, The Monster Squad, The Last Boy Scout, Last Action Hero, and The Long Kiss Goodnight. He is also the original creator of the Lethal Weapon franchise. As a director, Black made his debut with the film Kiss Kiss Bang Bang in 2005. He went on to write and direct Iron Man 3, The Nice Guys, and The Predator. Black has written 46 films and is a male filmmaker.
