Dame Ruth Elizabeth Warrick, born June 29, 1916, in Saint Joseph, Missouri, was an American singer, Hollywood Golden-Age actress, and political activist. She was best known for her television role as Phoebe Tyler, which she played regularly on All My Children from 1970 until her death on January 15, 2005. She also made her film debut as the first wife of the title character in Citizen Kane. Over her career, she accumulated 48 known acting credits in movies and television shows. She celebrated her 80th birthday by attending a special screening of Citizen Kane and speaking to the audience, and she served as a Licensed Unity Teacher.
