Robert Michael Schneider, pronounced SHNY‑dar, was born on October 31, 1963, in San Francisco, California. An American male actor and comedian, he first gained national attention as a cast member on NBC’s Saturday Night Live from 1990 to 1994, earning three Primetime Emmy Award nominations for his work there. After leaving SNL he moved into film, starring in comedies such as Down Periscope (1996), Big Daddy (1999), The Animal (2001), The Hot Chick (2002) and Grown Ups (2010). His most recognized role is the title character in Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo (1999) and its sequel Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo (2005). Schneider has also appeared as a guest on numerous television programs and pursued stand‑up comedy.
