Richard Allen Boone was an American actor born in Los Angeles, California on June 18, 1917, and he died on January 10, 1981 at the age of 63. He was the middle child of Cecile and Kirk E. Boone, a corporate lawyer, and was a descendant of Squire Boone. His mother was Jewish and the daughter of Russian immigrants. Boone graduated from Hoover High School in Glendale, California, and attended Stanford University, where he was a member of the Theta Xi fraternity. Known for his acting work with seventy-three known credits, he starred in over fifty films, was notable for his roles in Westerns, and starred in the television series Have Gun, Will Travel.
