Ricardo Montez, born Levy Isaac Attias on September 20, 1923, in Gibraltar, was an actor with twenty known credits. He was discovered by Frankie Vaughan during the filming of a small film production in Gibraltar and was persuaded to move to London. Following Vaughan's suggestion, he changed his name to Ricardo Montez in 1962. Montez was best known for his role as the Spanish bartender Juan Cervantes, a student in Jeremy Brown's EFL class in the ITV sitcom Mind Your Language. Some of his other work included Mamma Mia!, Man in a Suitcase, Inkognito, Are You Being Served? The Movie, Follow That Camel, Sharpova cest, and The Persuaders!. He passed away on October 26, 2010, at the age of eighty-seven.
