Biography
Paul Young is a Scottish actor and presenter born in Edinburgh on July 3, 1944, to an actor father. He made his debut as a child actor in the 1955 movie Geordie. In 1965, he became an offshore pirate radio DJ and was the first voice heard when Radio Scotland launched, where he presented the Ceilidh programme of traditional Scottish music. Returning to acting later in the decade, he has appeared in numerous plays, films, and television dramas. As a keen angler, he has also presented fishing programmes on Scottish television for many years, beginning with Hooked on Scotland for the BBC, followed by Hooked on Scottish for ITV, and later Hooked for a satellite and cable channel.
