Paul Cassidy, also known by the name Paul Anthony McAllister, is a Scottish actor born in Glasgow in 1977. He grew up in the south side of Glasgow and was educated at St Anthony's. Following his school years, he lived in Stockholm for three years while working for a music company. When he returned to Glasgow in 2004, he sought a new challenge and pursued one-to-one drama training. Following this preparation, he successfully auditioned and was cast in a stage production of The Talented Mr Ripley by Patricia Highsmith. Receiving strong reviews for his performance in the play, he subsequently pursued further stage work as well as appearances in film and television.

As an actor known for his expressive performances and a unique physical approach to portraying diverse characters, Cassidy has built a body of screen work. Among his notable roles are Charlie Chaplin in the 2018 film Holmes and Watson and Leith Farrish in the television series Outlander. Throughout his career, he has balanced his acting pursuits with other endeavors, including a five-year break from performing beginning in 2011 to dedicate his time to working with people with developmental trauma, assisting those less fortunate toward a happier life.
