She began her career as a child actor, appearing in commercials and the direct-to-video film An American Girl: Grace Stirs Up Success in 2015. Rodrigo later rose to prominence for her leading roles in television, starring in the Disney Channel series Bizaardvark from 2016 to 2019 and the Disney+ series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series from 2019 to 2022. Shifting her focus to her recording career, she signed with Geffen Records and released her 2021 single Drivers License, which peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 for eight consecutive weeks, raising her to international prominence and leading to her debut studio album release that same year.
