Biography
Oliver Norvell Hardy, born Norvell Hardy on January 18, 1892, was an American comic actor. He is best known as one half of the comedy duo Laurel and Hardy, a partnership that spanned from 1927 to 1951. Throughout his career, Hardy appeared alongside Stan Laurel in 107 short films, feature films, and cameo roles. He received his first film credit in 1914 for Outwitting Dad and was occasionally billed as Babe Hardy in his early work. Hardy died from cerebral thrombosis on August 7, 1957, at the age of 65. He is honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which is located at 1500 Vine Street in Hollywood, California.
