Nils Hilmer Lofgren is an American rock musician, recording artist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist born in Chicago, Illinois, on June 21, 1951. He has worked as a solo artist, founded and fronted the band Grin, and was a member of Crazy Horse. In 1984, he joined Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, later being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the band in 2014. As an actor and composer, his work includes appearances and credits in the film Sgt.
