Nia Vardalos is a Canadian-American actress, screenwriter, director, and producer. Born on September 24, 1962, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, she has appeared in numerous films and television shows. Her notable work includes the films My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Connie and Carla, My Life in Ruins, I Hate Valentine's Day, and Helicopter Mom. She has also starred in the television series My Big Fat Greek Life and Team Knight Rider, and played the role of Annie Spiro in Graves. Vardalos hosted The Great American Baking Show and has written and directed several projects.
