Morris Chestnut is an American film and television actor born on January 1, 1969, in Cerritos, California, USA. He began his acting career with a role in the episode "A Family Affair" of Freddy's Nightmares: A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Series, which aired on February 18, 1990. His first feature film role was in Boyz n the Hood, released in 1991. Chestnut has since appeared in various TV movies and other films, including The Best Man and Like Mike. He also played a role in the TV series V, where he portrayed the character Ryan Nichols.
