Melissa Rosenberg is an American screenwriter born on August 28, 1962, in Marin County, California. She has worked in both film and television, and has been involved in the Writers Guild of America, serving as a strike captain during the 2007-2008 strike. Rosenberg has also been a member of the Writers Guild of America Board of Directors and supports female screenwriters through the WGA Diversity Committee. She co-founded the League of Hollywood Women Writers. Rosenberg graduated from the University of Southern California with a Master's Degree in Film and Television, and majored in Dance and Theatre at Bennington College in Vermont.
