Meg Ryan is an American actress, producer, and director born on November 19, 1961, in Fairfield, Connecticut. She began her acting career in 1981 with her debut in the drama film Rich and Famous. In 1982, she joined the cast of the CBS soap opera As the World Turns. During the mid-1980s, she appeared in supporting film roles, including the box office hit Top Gun. She achieved recognition in independent films such as Promised Land in 1987.
