Marshall Thompson was an American film and television actor. Born James Marshall Thompson in Peoria, Illinois, on November 27, 1925, he was known for his boy-next-door good looks. In 1943, he was signed by Universal Pictures, where he played quiet, thoughtful teens in feature films, including a lead opposite singing star Gloria Jean in Reckless Age, earning a weekly salary of 350 dollars. Universal discharged most of its contract players in 1946, during which year Thompson moved to MGM, leading to steadily increased and improved film roles. By the 1950s, he became a freelance actor, working for various studios on a variety of pictures, including horror and science-fiction films. Thompson died on May 18, 1992, at the age of 66.
