Margarita de las Flores Lozano Jiménez (14 February 1931 – 7 February 2022) was a Spanish actress whose career was closely linked to Italian cinema. Born in Tetuan, then part of the Spanish protectorate in Morocco, she became noted for collaborations with several leading directors of the post‑war era. Lozano appeared in Luis Buñuel’s Viridiana, and she is remembered for her role in Sergio Leone’s A Fistful of Dollars, the first installment of the famed Spaghetti‑Western series. She also worked with Pier Paolo Pasolini in Pigsty, and with the Taviani brothers on three separate projects: The Night of the Shooting Stars, Kaos, and Good Morning Babylon. Her partnership with Italian auteurs continued in Nanni Moretti’s La messa è finita and in Claude Berri’s two‑part adaptation of Marcel Pagnol’s novels, Jean de Florette and Manon des Sources.
