Yves Montand, born Ivo Livi on October 13, 1921, was an Italian-born French actor and singer. He was born in Stignano, a small village in the hills of Monsummano Terme, Italy, to Giovanni Livi, a broom manufacturer, and his mother Giuseppina Simoni. The family left Italy for France in 1923 following the rise to power of fascist Benito Mussolini. Montand grew up in Marseille, where he worked in his sister's beauty salon and later on the docks before beginning a career as a music-hall singer. He died on November 9, 1991, at the age of seventy. He was known for acting with 126 known credits on The Movie Database, and his film work included appearances in Mzda strachu, Z, and Po%C5%A1etilost mocn%C3%BDch.
