After moving to California, she began her acting career at the age of seven when she landed her first role as a spelling bee contestant in the film Bad Words, released in 2013. She is known for playing the role of Frankie Wong on the Disney Channel series Bizaardvark and for her previous recurring role as Marci on another Disney Channel series, Best Friends Whenever. Hu has also showcased her comedy abilities in television series including The Goldbergs and Tosh.0. Her personal interests include ice skating, swimming, playing the guitar and piano, hanging out with friends, and spending time with her dog, Marshmallow.
