Laura Benanti is an American actress and singer. Born on July 15, 1979, in New York City, New York, USA. She has received five Tony Award nominations for her work on Broadway. Benanti has played various roles in her career, including Louise in the 2008 Broadway revival of Gypsy and Amalia Balash in the 2016 television production of She Loves Me. She has also appeared in other notable productions such as The Sound of Music Live!, Nashville, and Supergirl. Additionally, Benanti has played the role of Edie Randall in the TBS comedy The Detour since 2017.
