Larenz Tate is an American film and television actor born on September 8, 1975, in Chicago, Illinois. He is the youngest of three siblings. When he was nine years old, his family moved to California. Their parents convinced the siblings to enter a drama program at the Inner City Cultural Center. Initially, the trio did not take the lessons seriously, but this changed following classmate Malcolm-Jamal Warner's ascent to fame after being cast on the sitcom The Cosby Show. Realizing they could achieve tangible success, the siblings began pursuing small roles. In 1985, Tate made his small-screen debut in an episode of The New Twilight Zone series.
