Charles Kristian Bonnycastle Bruun, born 25 October 1979 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, is a Canadian stage and screen actor, producer and writer. He is best known for his regular television roles as Donald “Donnie” Hendrix in Orphan Black, Constable “Slugger” Jackson in Murdoch Mysteries, and Janus Ferber in The Recruit. Additional notable credits include The Girl Who Escaped: The Kara Robinson Story and The Rookie. Bruun studied at Valley Forge Military Academy in Pennsylvania, Queen’s University in Ontario, and the George Brown Theatre School in Toronto. At the 2015 San Diego Comic‑Con, he and co‑star Tatiana Maslany appeared in children’s TMNT costumes during a Live Comedy Bang Bang taping, the only celebrities to do so.
