Kie Kitano is a Japanese actress, singer, television host, and former gravure idol who was born on March 15, 1991, in Yokosuka, Kanagawa, Japan. She entered the entertainment industry in 2005 at the age of 14 by winning the Miss Magazine Grand Prix Award, becoming the youngest winner in the event's history. That same year, she made her acting debut in the BS-i drama Koisuru Nichiyoubi Natsu no Kioku. In 2006, she appeared in the NHK drama Junjo Kirari, Mother at Fourteen, and the film Yubisaki directed by Isao Yukisada. She took on her first lead role in 2007 in Happy Dining Table, also known as Kofuku na Shokutaku, directed by Takashi Komatsu, and also starred in the successful Fuji TV drama Life.
