Kate Capshaw, born Kathleen Sue Nail on November 3, 1953, in Fort Worth, Texas, is an American actress and painter. Before pursuing acting, she earned a Master's degree in Learning Disabilities and worked as a special education teacher. She began her acting career in New York, appearing in the soap opera "The Edge of Night." Capshaw gained widespread recognition after landing a leading role in the 1984 film "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom." She later married filmmaker Steven Spielberg. Beyond acting, Capshaw has focused on artistic endeavors and maintains a presence in both entertainment and art communities.
