Karl Held, who is also sometimes credited as Carl Held, is an American actor born on September 19, 1931, in Jersey City, New Jersey. He has worked extensively in both American and British television, accumulating numerous acting credits over the course of his career.

Among his most notable television roles, Held is best recognized for portraying Garth in the 1980s soap opera Falcon Crest, a role he played for three seasons from 1987 to 1989. In addition to Falcon Crest, Held made appearances in the television series Perry Mason. During the fourth season of Perry Mason, he appeared as Bruce Nesbitt in the episode titled The Case of the Angry Dead Man and later appeared as the defendant David Gideon in The Case of the Grumbling Grandfather. He continued playing the role of David Gideon for eight additional episodes during the fifth season of the series, portraying an aspiring law student and legal eagle who assisted Perry Mason in uncovering evidence to aid accused clients. His other television credits include work in programs such as The Outer Limits, The Aphrodite Inheritance, and The Barbara Stanwyck Show.
