Judy Garland was an American actress and singer. Born Frances Ethel Gumm on June 10, 1922, she began her career in vaudeville with her sisters. She was signed to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, where she made over two dozen films, including nine with Mickey Rooney and "The Wizard of Oz". After 15 years, Garland was released from the studio but regained success through concert appearances and a return to acting.
