John Richardson
Biography
John Richardson, born 1946 in England, is a British special effects supervisor. He contributed to several James Bond films including Casino Royale, Moonraker, Octopussy, A View to Kill and Die Another Day, and worked on the entire Harry Potter film series released between 2001 and 2011. His earlier credits include A Bridge Too Far (1977) and Aliens (1986). His work on Aliens earned him the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects at the 1987 ceremony. He received the BAFTA Award for Best Special Visual Effects for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 (2011) and was nominated for an Academy Award for the same film at the 2012 ceremony. In 2019 he authored the book Making Movie Magic detailing his career.
