Biography
John James Osborne was an English playwright, screenwriter, actor, and entrepreneur born in London on December 12, 1929. He died on December 24, 1994. Before his career in theatre, he briefly worked as a journalist and served as a stage manager. Osborne is regarded as an influential figure in post-war theatre, notably for his 1956 play Look Back in Anger, which is considered a pivotal moment that ushered in an era of social realism. Throughout a career spanning over 40 years, he wrote for the stage, film, and television. His work explored various themes and genres, addressing Britain's purpose in the post-imperial age. He was also an Oscar-winning screenwriter for his work on the film Tom Jones.
