Biography
Charles Joel Nordström Kinnaman, professionally known as Joel Kinnaman, is a Swedish-American actor born on November 25, 1979, in Stockholm, Sweden. Known internationally for his work across film and television, Kinnaman has built a diverse career featuring notable roles in both Swedish productions and major American projects. His acting credits span numerous film and television appearances, establishing him as a recognized presence in the entertainment industry.

Kinnaman first gained recognition for his roles in the Swedish film Easy Money and the Johan Falk crime series. He subsequently transitioned to prominent international television and film roles. On television, he is known for playing Detective Stephen Holder in AMC's The Killing, Governor Will Conway in the U.S. version of House of Cards, and Takeshi Kovacs in the first season of Altered Carbon. Since 2019, he has starred as NASA astronaut Ed Ba.
In film, Kinnaman played the title role of Alex Murphy in the 2014 RoboCop remake. He also portrayed Rick Flag in the Warner Bros. film adaptations of the DC Comics anti-hero team Suicide Squad, appearing in the 2016 release as well as James Gunn's 2021 sequel and soft reboot, The Suicide Squad.
