Atkinson received a Tony Award nomination for her performances in The Rainmaker and Enchanted April. She is also recognized for her portrayal of Karen Hayes in the television series 24. Additionally, Atkinson appeared in the CBS drama Criminal Minds as BAU Section Chief Erin Strauss.
