Jack Thorne is a British playwright, screenwriter, and producer born on December 6, 1978, in Bristol, England, United Kingdom. A fan of hard science fiction, he is best known for writing the stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the films Wonder in 2017, Enola Holmes in 2020, and the sequel in 2022, as well as the television programme His Dark Materials from 2019 to 2022. Between 2010 and 2015, Thorne co-wrote the mini-series This Is England 86, This Is England 88, and This Is England 90 with director Shane Meadows. In 2023, his four-part mini-series Best Interests was released, starring Michael Sheen and Sharon Horgan, and it won Best Limited Series at the Banff.
