He began his career playing guest roles in film and on television before achieving his breakthrough role as Eddie Kaspbrak in the 2017 and 2019 film adaptations of the Stephen King novel It. His television work includes starring in the CBS series Me, Myself, and I, and playing the lead role of Frazer Wilson in Luca Guadagnino's coming-of-age drama series We Are Who We Are in 2020. In film, he portrayed Freddy Freeman in the 2019 DC Extended Universe film Shazam! and starred as Joey in the 2020 thriller film Don't Tell a Soul. Additionally, he voiced the character Alberto in the 2021 Pixar film Luca.
