Hirokazu Kore-eda is a male Japanese film director, producer, screenwriter, and editor born in Tokyo, Japan on June 6, 1962. Known primarily for directing with seventy-eight known credits, he began his career in television before directing more than a dozen feature films. His notable directorial works include Nobody Knows in 2004, Still Walking in 2008, and After the Storm in 2016. He won the Jury Prize at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival for Like Father, Like Son and later won the Palme d'Or at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival for Shoplifters.
