Hedy Lamarr was an Austrian-born actress. Born on November 9, 1914, she began her early film career in Czechoslovakia. She later moved to Paris and then to Hollywood, where she became a film star with her performance in Algiers (1938). Her films at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer include Lady of the Tropics (1939), Boom Town (1940), H.M. Pulham, Esq. (1941), and White Cargo (1942). Lamarr's acting career spanned multiple films, with a total of 62 known credits. She passed away on January 19, 2000, at the age of 85. Lamarr is also known as Hedy Kiesler Hed.
