Harold Sylvester is an American film and television actor born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on February 10, 1949. He is a graduate of New Orleans' St. Augustine High School and Tulane University. Sylvester is best known for his television role as Griff, the friend and co-worker of Al Bundy at the shoe store on the series Married... with Children. His other television credits include Walking Tall, Today's F.B.I., Mary, Shaky Ground, The Army Show, a recurring role on City of Angels, and appearing as Woodson Wayne on A Different World. His well-known film roles include An Officer and a Gentleman in 1982, Uncommon Valor in 1983, and Innerspace in 1987. Additionally, Sylvester wrote the screenplay for the 1998 television movie Passing Glory based on his high school basketball experiences.
