Biography

Hairi Katagiri is a Japanese actress born in Tokyo in 1963. She graduated from Seikei University's Faculty of Letters, Department of Japanese Literature. Katagiri began acting while working part-time at the Ginza Bunka Cinema movie theater. Since the 1980s, she has appeared in television, film, and primarily stage productions. She has performed in numerous stage works directed by Suzuki Matsuo and Shūji Onodera. Her television roles have included diverse characters such as an ama-san (sea woman), teacher, and scientist. Katagiri continues volunteering as a ticket taker at Kineka Omori, a local movie theater. Her recent film work includes "Kinema no Kamisama," released on August 6, 2021.
