Grace Patricia Kelly was an American actress born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on November 12, 1929, and she died on September 14, 1982, at the age of 52. After graduating from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in 1949, she began appearing in New York City theatrical productions and television broadcasts. Kelly starred in several significant films in the early to mid-1950s and gained stardom from her performance in John Ford's adventure-romance Mogambo in 1953, receiving an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her work in the film. She also won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in a drama. In April 1956, she married Prince Rainier III and became Princess of Monaco.
