Alfred Hitchcock was an English film director. Born on August 13, 1899, in Leytonstone, London, England, UK, he is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in cinema history. Known as the "Master of Suspense", Hitchcock directed over 50 feature films during a career spanning six decades. He is also known for his many interviews, cameo appearances in his films, and hosting and producing the television anthology Alfred Hitchcock Presents. His films garnered 46 Academy Award nominations, including six wins. Hitchcock died on April 29, 1980, at the age of 80.
