Virginia Elizabeth “Geena” Davis, born January 21, 1956 in Wareham, Massachusetts, is an American actress, film producer, writer, former fashion model and women’s Olympic archery team semi‑finalist. She is credited with 83 acting roles and is also known by the names Virginia Emmolo and Virginia Elizabeth. Davis is noted for performances in The Fly, Beetlejuice, Thelma & Louise, A League of Their Own and The Accidental Tourist. For her work in The Accidental Tourist she received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1988, and in 2005 she earned the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television Series Drama for her role in Commander in Chief.
