Evelyn Louise Keyes was an American film actress born on November 20, 1916, in Port Arthur, Texas. She passed away on July 4, 2008, at the age of 91. Beginning as a chorus girl by age 18, she came to Hollywood and signed a personal contract with Cecil B. DeMille at Paramount Pictures, where she appeared in a handful of B-movies before landing the role of Suellen, Scarlett O'Hara's sister, in Gone with the Wind. She was later interviewed for the 1988 documentary The Making of a Legend: Gone with the Wind. After signing a contract with Columbia Pictures, she played an ingenue in Here Comes Mr. Jordan in 1941 and spent the early 1940s playing leads in many of the studio's B dramas and mysteries.
